An exam board has scrapped a GCSE biology question about creationism after admitting it could be misleading.
The Assessment and Qualifications Alliance paper asked pupils how the Bible’s theory of creation seeks to explain the origins of life.
AQA stressed that pupils taking its biology GCSE were not required to study creationism as a scientific theory.
But it admitted that describing it as a “theory” could be misleading, and said it would review the wording of papers.
The review was prompted by a complaint from teachers and a university lecturer.
I can’t believe they snuck this into a science exam paper — this has nothing to do with science and calling it a ‘theory’ is just a joke!
“To convey the logical absurdity of trying to squeeze the round peg of science into the square hole of religion, I penned the following scientific revision of the Genesis creation story.
“It is not intended as a sacrilege of the poetic beauty of Genesis; rather, it is a mere extension of what the creationists have already done to Genesis in their insistence that it be read not as mythic saga but as sci entific prose.
“If Genesis were written in the language of modern science, it would read something like this.”

Someone posted this great comment on the video:
If you don’t believe in Evolution then don’t use vaccines or antibiotics (including penicillin), don’t have transplants or any product achieved through Genetics & Germ Theory - that includes modern animal & agrarian produce (e.g. beef & wheat), which is selectively bred, & relies on genetically researched inoculations & pesticides.
The Theory of Evolution is used with Germ Theory, Genetic Theory & Biochemistry to produce all of these things & many more.
PS. Enjoy your leeches.
One in eight U.S. high school biology teachers presents creationism or intelligent design in a positive light in the classroom, a new survey shows, despite a federal court’s recent ban against it….
